- Fitted sheets - king size and twin size (these are the most common bed sizes)
- Favorite toys
- Favorite books
- If you are crafty, bring your favorite craft supplies.
- Some of your favorite western clothes can be brought to wear at home if you will not be going out on some days or if you will be in a larger city; also you will want to bring clothes for exercising
- A good pair of sandals (or something easy to slip on and off because it is customary to remove your shoes in homes) and a good pair of tennis shoes
- Photo albums (but keep in mind these may have to be left behind if for some reason you are unable to return in an emergency situation)
- Medical records
- Any prescription medicines (at least three month's worth to give you time to find out if it is available here and to ask it to be mailed if it is not available)
- Maple flavoring
- Vanilla extract
- Brown sugar
- Koolaid, Gatorade powder or other drink mixes
- Cream of tartar
- Parmesan cheese
- Karo syrup
- Chicken bouillon
- Yeast (it is available here but it can be unreliable)
